Anthony E. Powell, the youngest of 3 boys and 2 girls, is a native of Tacoma, Washington. Being educated in the Tacoma School District, Tony was active in Drama, Concert Band, and Student Government. After graduating from high school, Tony received his Associate's degree from Green River Community College and his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington
Tony is a self-imposed “Church Boy”. Growing up in the church has been one of Tony’s greatest joys. Sunday was “The Lord’s Day” his parents said, so we were at church from early morning Sunday School to morning worship service, to afternoon church service, (usually a Ushers Annual Day) to B.T.U. Then I finished the day by attending evening worship service. Church work includes Chairman of the Deacon Ministry, Chairman of the Men’s Ministry, Sunday School teacher, Usher Ministry (Junior, Young Adults, and Senior)
Tony is a retired Corporate Merchandise Manager from Nordstrom Department Stores. His territory included the Western United States and Washington D.C. Capital Region. He is currently a Chaplain for a local Police Department and volunteers at St. Joseph Medical Center in the Surgical Services Department.
His hobbies include playing the trumpet in the Tacoma/Olympia Symphonic Orchestra. He has had University of Washington Season Football tickets for 41 consecutive years and never misses a home game, is flirting with the idea of running for Tacoma City Council.
His favorite Bible verse is. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding, and in All your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path” Proverbs 3:5-6
